I come from a retail background where we obsessed over data. The team reviewed sales figures every morning and made subtle changes to the sales floor throughout the day. Proportional allocation competed with strategic planning to define what you saw first and how much of it there was.
To a hammer everything looks like a nail
To me your website is no different. I made a $25million unit profitable by interpreting data and making physical changes to layout - you can certainly do the same with your business. I'm not suggesting daily changes but certainly monthly and hell, weekly if you've got the time.
