You Still Have to Show Up!
Thank you for all the kind words last week, they are very much appreciated.
One thing that clearly resonated with people was my decision not to publish.
Reality
Here’s the thing though - marketing is an essential part of our businesses. Unlike traditional advertising that shows up whether you’re in a good mood or not, with content marketing, if you don’t publish you are under serving your clients and customers, traffic to your business will decline and you’ll be leaving the door open for competitors.
Be prepared
The smart solution for me would have been to have a couple of newsletters already written that I could publish without having to think. And while I normally like to wait until Thursday morning so that what I write is the freshest and most relevant idea at the time, I’m pretty sure I can think of some “evergreen” content that I can use in the future.
So today I’m going to write two newsletters and I think I’ll do the same next week. If you don’t have a “buffer” of content for your business - maybe you should do the same!
